Ok, so you've done all the hard work of getting you and your family photographed, now what?

Displaying your images can be as simple as printing and putting in a frame, or as complicated as designing a gallery wall within your home to display those magical moments captured.

In this post I'll go over my favorite ways to display your images, the best places to print them, and help you choose the best printing options.

So, how should you display your images?

Creating the Gallery Wall of your dreams...

showcase those images

Creating a Gallery Wall Feature in your home can be daunting, but I'm going to share my 2 biggest tips with you!

1. Decide what you want to frame: Making the decision on what you want to frame can be tough. I love mixing posed images with candid shots. It's the perfect way to tell a story. I like keeping the look cohesive, so stick with either all color or all black and white.

2. Have fun with your frames: Mixing up the size, and material of your frames is essential to building your gallery wall.

Finding The Perfect Frames

Finding frames can sometimes be challenging. My favorite places to find frames are HomeSense and my local Thrift Store. A small part of me screams inside when I walk into a thrift store and see the perfect vintage frame. Mixing vintage and modern frames whether your displaying them in a gallery wall, or on a shelf is the perfect way to add texture to your framed collection!

Where should I get my images printed?...

Quality, Quality, Quality....

No all printers are equal. Have you ever printed photos out from the instant Kodiak kiosks in Walmart and thought to yourself... wow, these look horrible? You're not alone. Not everyone knows that quality of prints vary from printer to printer. I offer prints directly from my store ( which is accessed through your client gallery ). You will get crisp, clean prints that will look stunning framed.

Sometimes we don't realize we want our photos framed until months even years down the road... In that case, here are my favorite places to get photos printed:

In a hurry?

If you're in a hurry to get those photos printed, a local store I suggest is London Drugs. Their quality is the best I've found in town. If possible, submit the images you want printed via their photo app, or select 1 hour print from the kiosks in store.

Have a bit more time?

If you're not in a rush I highly suggest getting prints through Shutterfly. They are very reasonably priced and have tons of printing options for you! Bonus tip, if you're a Costco Member you get 50% off prints.

What finish should I choose?

Choosing the right finish when printing images can make a huge difference to their visual appeal. The finish can also determine how well the photo lasts over the years. Here I'll quickly go over a few finish types and why/why not to choose them.

Matte Finish

Matte finish is great for photos that are being displayed in a bright room. The lack of shine makes this finish perfect to display behind glass.

Glossy Finish

Photos printed on glossy paper tend to appear crisper. The colors also appear more vibrant. This is a perfect finish for displaying your photos without a frame!

Pearl Finish

Sometimes this finish is also referred to as Luster. Its the balance between Matte and Glossy, and my personal favorite. If you're wanting a high quality print, this is your best option.

Enjoy the memories...

Now that you have your images printed, you can relax and look back on the amazing memories you made with your loved ones during your session. Whether you're a total newbie to printing images, creating your first baby's baby book, or taking on the project of creating a gallery wall... I hope you found some of this information useful.

Until next time,
