The key to success...

So many of my clients tell me at the beginning of their sessions that they're nervous or don't know what to do. It's totally normal, and trust me... we don't expect you to know exactly what to do during your session. These tips and tricks will help you feel over prepared when you show up to your session with me!

Get Those Kids Happy!!!

Making sure your kid(s) show up with fully bellies and well rested is the first steps in making sure they cooperate! A tired hungry kid is not going to crack a smile, or let out a big belly laugh that makes for the perfect candid shot.

Get Loose...

Being nervous in front of the camera is totally normal, but it's my job to make you feel as comfortable and as confident as possible. Some of the best photos I've ever captured are candid moments when families are just being silly with one another. I always try to provide a good mix of posed/candid shots so don't be afraid to tell jokes, play games or act silly in front of my camera!

Picking The Right Outfits...

All of my clients will get a comprehensive styling guide when booking with me. But here are a few tips and tricks.

  • Don't be too matchy matchy, pick complimentary colours.
  • Steer clear of loud/busy patterns
  • Stick with a neutral colour pallet
  • Stay away from big statement jewelry/headwear etc...
  • Don't wear something you're not comfortable/confident in

Trust Me...

With all these tips you should show up to your session feeling prepared and ready to have some fun. But don't worry, I'm not just there to take photos. I'm there to guide you every step of the way from fixing that fly away hair, tucking that shirt, or telling you how to pose. I want you to fall in love with your images, and I'll do everything in my power to make sure your vision of your family photos comes to life!!
